Post Lockdown - The Perfect Activity!

Post lockdown ideas

If you’re looking for that perfect post lockdown treat, then please continue to read.

Have you been scratching your head wondering what else there is left to do in your local area? Maybe you’re a city bumpkin looking for a day trip out into the Surrey Hills, in need of soaking up the nature and stretching your legs. Whether you are looking for something to do with friends, loved ones, children or want to fly solo then you are welcome to come to Mayfield Lavender Farm in Banstead; take the afternoon strolling around the beautiful lavender farm, enjoy a bite to eat (you must try their delicious lavender ice-cream!), take some great happy snaps (hint hint - maybe you’ll find a few very random & fun props among the fields to pose next to) and then send the kids home with (a responsible adult) and join me for a yoga class to remember.

We will roll out our yoga mats and begin to flow - unwinding, releasing & exploring movement with our breath, it’s the perfect way to destress & reenergise. You will be guided through a gentle vinyasa class with spectacular views over the purple lavender fields. There will be sunrise classes on Wednesday mornings and sunset classes on Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun. The outdoor yoga classes will be held when the farm is closed to the public so it will be quiet & peaceful so truly maximise on the luxurious experience.

If you're wondering how an outdoor yoga class will take shape when it rains then let me put your mind at ease. If it rains, we will still be in for a treat! We will take to the picnic tents which are situated by the Mayfield Lavender Farm’s Cafe and continue to flow with the beautiful sound of rain pattering on the tent. The smells of the lavender will be accentuated & it’ll be a beautiful experience.

Holding yoga classes outside is a pure joy for me, I absolutely love nature and teaching yoga at Mayfield Lavender Farm is an absolute privilege. My yoga classes are for everybody, whether this will be your first time trying yoga or if you have a regular practice. The whole purpose of this incredibly yoga experience is to offer lovely locals & day trippers a unique opportunity to find some peace & enjoyment by moving your body with your breath in the most unique yoga studio setting. Practicing yoga outside can offer challenges & rewards, to feel the sunshine on your skin as your gently move through the summer breeze is oh so nourishing. To hear the gentle humming of bees are they remain loyal to their calling (to pollinate - not bother us) is relaxing. The feel the energy of other people as they connect with their body, their breath and tune into their being, is liberating.

My yoga classes focus on the joy of moving & embracing the connection with ourselves and the life around us. Life is so short and this pandemic has been a stark reminder of just how much we need social interaction, how important it is to move our bodies and how powerful soaking in nature is for the mind & spirit. It’s good to push our comfort zones and I hope to provide you a safe and nourishing space to be able to find whatever it is your feel you need form our yoga classes.

I’ll be posting lots of information about the classes over on my Instagram so feel free to connect and say hey on there : @Amanda.s.wass

Please join me outside at Mayfield Lavender Farm, in Banstead, for a truly unique yoga class that is sure to help you, “Breathe, move and be happy.”

Peace & Love,

Amanda Wass
